All first edition copies of his novels with two signed by the author. Comprising of: 'The Tryst' 1989 'The Dying of the Night' 1993 'Dark Spectre' 1995 and 'Thanksgiving' 2000. 'The Tryst' has Dibdin's signature tipped in to the title page. 'The Dying of the Light' bears Dibdin's signature to the title page. Michael Dibdin is best known for his series of crime novels featuring the anti-hero detective 'Aurelio Zen'. There are eleven novels in that series total. They provide an insight into less visible aspects of Italian society at the turn of the twenty-first century. Aurelio Zen is an anti-hero which adds to the irony and dark humour found in these books. 'The Tryst' follows psychiatrist Aileen Macklin who after attending a young murder witness Gary Dunn finds her marriage under strain and a disturbing link to her own past. 'The Dying of the Light' is a murder mystery novel set in a nursing home. 'Dark Spectre' is another thrilling crime fiction novel. It follows a series of murders in broad daylight where 'there is certainly nothing whatsoever to connect them with an obscure religious sect operating from an island in the Pacific North West'. 'Thanksgiving' follows a man who decides to visit his dead wife's first husband following her untimely death in a plane crash. A smart set of these novels written by an award winning author in the thriller and detective fiction genres. In the publisher's original cloth binding. With the unclipped dustwrappers. The publishing house of John Jennings fl.1782-1819 of Water Lane Fleet Street was responsible for a prodigious output of cheap popular printing in the first half of the nineteenth-century. Sinclair was a Jewish British author best known for Hearts of Gold 1979 Bedbugs 1982 and The Lady with the Laptop 1996. Dibdin reviewed Sinclair's work in The Independent and The Observer.
