1973CNJL1048London: Printed at the Trianon Press for the Trustees of the William Blake Trust 1973. Limited Edition. Hardcover. Fine. Blake William. Number 340 of 750 quarto size unpaginated. "The Book of Ahania" is one of Blake's lesser-known works and is generally agreed to be a continuation of "The Book of Urizen" with Ahania being the feminine manifestation of Urizen signifying pleasure. According to Geoffrey Keynes' Description this text " .along with "The Book of Los" were some of the last of the series of Illuminated Books completed by Blake while living in Lambeth. The manner of their execution suggest that he was wearying with the effort of making the splendid books that preceded them and was seeking for a less laborious method of production. Blake completed only one copy of each book and then laid them aside as if dissatisfied with his experiment. He never included either of them in any list of his productions and is not known to have disposed of them to any customer or patron. They therefore remained unknown until late in the nineteenth century."

William Blake 1757-1827 is arguably the most original and highly-regarded English author - unusual in that he excelled both as an author and an artist. Although thought mad by his contemporaries he was held in high regard for his expressiveness and for the synthesis of philosophical and mystical senses within his work. Blake's work has been spectacularly reproduced through the pochoir technique by Arnold Fawcus and his Trianon Press which has an undeniable claim to being the finest press of its kind in the last century and has long been known for their unrivaled artworks in fine colour printing.

___DESCRIPTION: Original quarter blue morocco with hand-marbled paper sides backstrip lettered in gilt six colour plates reproduced by the collotype and pochoir process printed on Arches pure rag paper made to match the paper used by Blake; quarto size 11.5" by 9.25" unpaginated 6 plates and 5 pp. commentary limited edition no. 340 of 750 of the regular edition with 808 total copies. 1982109358London: Jonathan Cape 1982. First edition of this Dahl classic which has sold over 20 million copies. Octavo original cloth illustrated by Quentin Blake. Boldly inscribed by the author on the front pastedown "Nicola Love Roald Dahl." Additionally inscribed by the illustrator Quentin Blake opposite Dahl's inscription. Fine in a near fine dust jacket. Uncommon signed by both Dahl and Blake. Roald Dahl is now considered one of the most beloved storytellers of the twentieth century. Dahl's ability to twist words into a clever and creative new language is fascinating to children and is evident in BFG. The gruesome descriptions of the horrid giants and the subtle allusions to other stories will entertain children young and old. An animated adaptation was released in theatres in 1987 with David Jason providing the voice of the BFG and Amanda Root as the voice of Sophie. It was also the basis for the 2016 film directed and co-produced by Steven Spielberg written by Melissa Mathison and starring Mark Rylance Ruby Barnhill Penelope Wilton Jemaine Clement Rebecca Hall Rafe Spall and Bill Hader.
