Condition good-very good a little rubbing to corners and edges front hinge cracked on volume I leather chipped at head and tail of spine with loss on Vol 1 no loss on vol 2 a few spots to first and last few pages in each volume toning to a few pages and some offsetting but generally in very clean condition throughout. Title pages printed in red and black finely executed engraved portrait frontispiece in volume 1 and 6 full page engravings all executed by F. Chereau.
