1950137591Paris: Gallimard 1950-1958. First editions of all three volumes in Camus's collected articles and commentaries. Octavo original wrappers as issued. Each volume is fine condition. A rare complete set in exceptional condition. Published separately in three volumes between 1950 and 1958 Camus' Actuelles bring together articles and excerpts from his most important texts presented chronologically. This second volume brings together texts written from 1948 to 1953 primarily Camus' responses to the controversies which followed the publication of L'Homme révolté. Actuelles III or his Algerian Chronicles bring together Camus' stories about his native country from his first articles in 1939 when few people were interested in this country until 1959 shortly before his death. The dust wrapper has some slight curling and tearing along the top edge. It has not been price clipped and shows the original 18s. net price. There are some small pen annotations to the front flap marking page numbers of interest to the previous owner. The boards are tight and free from notable chips and marks but with a band of minor sunning at the tail of the spine. The internals are clean throughout and the text blocks though with some slight spotting to the side edge.
