Written by Geoffrey Chaucer an English poet author and civil servant considered the "father of English literature". Epitomised by Sir William Moir Calder a Scottish archaeologist epigraphist classicist and academic. Bound by Relfe Brothers Limited London. Suitable for rebinding. Bound in full red crushed morocco. Externally sound with rubbing and light loss to the extremities. Fading to the spine and board edges with a damp mark to the tail of the spine and boards. The odd mark with small splits in the head of the spine. Library mark to the tail of the spine. Internally firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Light age toning to the endpapers with library ink stamp and contemporary ink inscriptions to the front endpapers. School prize bookplate to the front pastedown.
