1955274215St. Jean Ferret 1955. unbound. 1 page 10.75 x 8.25 inches St. Jean Ferret September 11 1955 in French untranslated to an unknown correspondent with interesting literary content in part: "Cher Monsieur" writing that he had sent an earlier letter and had not received an answer. He suggests that maybe his previous letter did not arrive or that the recipient did not think it worthwhile replying to. However he stresses that he does not trifle so to speak ever. Cocteau speaks of argot and mentions that he does not know the original text of "You Can Always Duck" 1943 by the British mystery writer Peter Cheyney but thinks the French translation by his correspondent is a masterpiece. He also would like to know the man who wrote pages 15-21 of "Alors toujours en blade" -- the title of the French translation 1947 of "You Can Always Duck." In closing Cocteau states "As the young woman of St. Germaine say 'it's feudal' and I think so."
