1922003801Constable 1922 Gorgeous first edition of this celebrated book by Walter De La Mare. The book is greatly enhanced by the illustrations of Dorothy Lathrop. Coloured frontispiece lovely gilt designed blue buckram cover. Beautiful collectable. No jacket but perhaps there was none issued. The cover boards are age worn but firm; the corners are not bumped; there are one or two tiny marks through use here and there; the spine is secure but a bit soft at the top and bottom; the gilt design and titling on the front board still glitters but is slightly faded on the spine; the end papers are clean not written on and are not cracked; there is very little foxing probably because the publisher has used decent smooth art paper for a quality job like this. The text block is gilt topped and untrimmed at the base which again adds quality. Nobody has spilt anything underlined anything or turned down any corners. 0.0 0.0 0.0. Illus. by Dorothy Lathrop. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine. Constable hardcover
