2022ABE-1671184200290Folio London 2022 When the Beatles song of the book s title plays over an airplane intercom Toru Watanabe is reminded of Naoko his first love. Brought together by a traumatic shared experience the couple find solace in an intense complicated relationship in which they cocoon themselves from the rest of the world. A beautiful exploration of love sexuality and grief the nostalgic narrative is a departure from the author s typical magical realism and yet it remains distinctly Murakami. The first illustrated edition of Norwegian Wood features the mesmerising artwork of Daniel Liévano who was awarded the Society of Illustrators Silver Award for his work on our edition of Kafka on the Shore and whose vision marries perfectly with the dreamlike prose. Perfect new and unread copy of the first printing issued in a slipcase and illustrated. Special Edition. Hardcover. New/New. Folio London hardcover

178524331Paris: Renouard n.d. 1785. This impressive suite of engravings depict the history of France from the inauguration of Pharamond circa 428 to the year 1314. Moreau had intended to carry on with the engraving work and bring the book up to his own time but the project was unfortunately never completed. Renouard hardcover
1959ABE-1282616045Andre Deutsch London 1959 This is the first UK printing of the first hardcover edition of the author's very great breakthrough novel filmed with Richard Dreyfuss in the title role. Near Fine publisher's red cloth with no damaged corners and obviously nicely stored inside its jacket because the spine is not the usual faded thing we mostly see with this book. It is such a brilliant novel and it is a wonder there were not more prizes for Richler. Jacket is price clipped and there are some negligible little chips but it is now safe inside a sleeve. Highly collectible and one of the best novels of its time. Andre Deutsch committed the sin of using cheap paper and as with all copies there is some tanning. 1998ABE-2704255759Faber London 1998 SIGNED on the title page no dedication no owner signature just a signed by the author softback original. Text block paper is tanning which is naughty of the publisher ; here is a great book by a renowned writer and Faber choose to print it on cheap pulp. Apart from this foolish decision this is a nicely designed production. The full colour cover is a French flap structure that has a beautiful monochrome photograph underneath it. So a high standard of design and typography but they print it on rubbish paper! Cannot understand why. Language: eng Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng.
