1872CAT000061Paris: Rosa y Bouret 1872. Later Edition. Hardcover Quarter Leather. Fair Condition. Orignal black cloth worn at edges corners rounded front joint reinforced with cloth tape and rear weak evidence of having been reglued at some point wear to page edges one page encapsulated in japanese paper at some point a bit shaken overall with some loose signatures but still a complete and usable example of this cookbook originally published in 1845. Not in Cagle Bitting Vicaire etc. 966pp arranged alphabetically with 6 place setting and carving plates at the rear.

Nuevo Cocinero serves as a sort of counterpoint to the Nationalistic aspirations of El Cocinero Mexicano 1831. Earlier editions castigated readers for serving tamales poor people's food and though later editions removed this exhortation it remained an upper-class French cookbook going so far as to invoke Careme and Beauvilliers on the title page written in the shape of a wine glass. But for all that the author heaps praise on pit cooking barbacoa style. Size: 8vo. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Category: Cooking Wine & Dining; Inventory No: CAT000061. Count Nikolai Petrovich Rumiantsev 1754 â 1826 was Minister of Commerce and Foreign Minister in the period leading up to Napoleon's invasion of Russia from 1808 until 1812. He was also a voracious collector amassing an enormous collection of coins maps and over 28 000 books manuscripts and historical documents. The last of his family he bequeathed them to the Ministry of Education after his death. Emperor Nicholas I issued a decree on the establishment of the Rumyantsev Museum in 1828 and it opened its doors in 1831 occupying the Rumyantsev House on English Quay in St. Petersburg. It became affiliated with the Imperial Public Library in 1845. The museum was relocated to Moscow in 1861 to the Pashkov House opposite the Kremlin becoming Moscow's first public museum. It was renamed the Imperial Moscow and Rumiantsev Museum in 1913 while new acquisitions were continuously added to the existing inventory. In 1924 the Soviet Government decided to shut the museum down splitting the collections and transferring them to the Lenin State Library of the USSR the Tretyakov Gallery the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts and others. The current volume covered a turbulent period the beginning of the First World War which had put a great strain on the staff and operations of the museum hitting especially hard the library where most employees had been drafted. It included a breakdown of the number of visitors and researchers from various nationalities financial reports and obituaries of members of the museum. It also prominently featured detailed bibliographical descriptions of new acquisitions in the various departments including books manuscripts personal documents objects of art etc. Apparently two other small pamphlets with a catalog of the Elzevir editions in the library and the letters of Turgenev to Countess Lambert were published simultaneously with the current one not present. When the army holds maneuvers near her home town the factory supervisor organizes a mixer for the largely female workforce and the all-male soldiers. This dance proves a mixed success with many of the soldiers who are middle-aged reservists and many of the factory workers who are inexperienced young women with idealized views of romance being confused by and disappointed with their potential dancing partners. The film's protagonist though does meet an attractive young man who plays in the dance band and has a one-night fling with him. When she travels to the capital city where he lives in order to resume their romance she meets his parents and comes to the realization that there is no future in this relationship." Wikipedia

This was Miloš Forman's second feature-length fiction film it was preceded by a few shorts and documentary films and this was the film which brought him significant international recognition.
Ceskoslovensky Filmexport; Prominent Films books
