Balmas Introduzione in: Anonimo Storia delle persecuzioni nega che Noël sia l'autore e attribuisce l'opera ad un anonimo. La prefazione è datata 13 giugno 1562. Mancanze al margine di p.11 che non tocca comunque il testo. Legatura reimpostata di piena pergamena antica muta. Two lines in contemporary brown ink inscribed in a mysterious unknown script above the emblem on the title page. Unclear as to hand or date. 212 pages with preface and extract from Ch. XIV setting up the author's response to the so called "wisdom" books of Confucius and the ancestor worship of the Chinese. From the Order of Dominicans and theologian at the Sorbonne Fr. A Fine tight copy in a Fine bright unclipped dust jacket. Rear-Admiral Sir John Franklin 1786 – 1847 was a British Royal Navy officer and Arctic explorer. Franklin also served as governor of Tasmania for several years. He disappeared on his last expedition attempting to chart and navigate a section of the Northwest Passage in the Canadian Arctic. The icebound ships were abandoned and the entire crew perished from starvation hypothermia tuberculosis lead poisoning and scurvy. Sir John Franklin made his last Arctic expedition in 1845 and within three years the crew of the expedition had disappeared. Noel Wright provides in this book a history of the various Arctic expeditions beginning in the 16th Century on up to Franklin's disappearance. We include a court summons in the name of Nadine Nimier issued by bailiff Gustave Karsenti and dated 19 June 1973 as a witness for Bernard Noël's lawyer prosecuted by the court in criminal proceedings at the 17th chamber on 25 June 1973 for offence against public morals through his work ""Le Château de Cène"". Despite the defence and testimony of Nadine Nimier Bernard Noël the author of the work was condemned on 9 July 1973 to a 3000 franc fine and his publisher Jérome Martineau to 4000 francs. Two press clippings also included. Provenance: from the library of Nadine Nimier wife and widow of Roger Nimier and cited by Bernard Noël's lawyer as witness at the trial of the work.
