Son père est mis en prison pour dettes. Il re-fréquente une école privé, pendant trois ans (la situation familiale s'est améliorée). Il commence à écrire en 1833, des histoires et des feuilletons pour les journaux. C'est d'ailleurs ainsi que naissent la plupart de ses oeuvres. Très bon état.

As such this features the first three chapters of "Martin Chuzzlewit" by Charles Dickens as well as an editorial criticizing the recent work and wealth of Dickens. Of note is a brief article on Mormons and Mormonism asserting that there are people in Kendal England taken by the dogmas of Mormonism that they refuse medical advice and claiming that Joseph Smith is threatening to take the US by fire and sword mentioning he had been indicted for murder and arson.
