Very near fine in decorated red cloth covered boards with gilt text and floral decorations on the spine and on the front board with blind embossed floral motif around the perimeter of the front and rear boards. All edges of the text block are gilt. A 16mo of 6 3/8 by 4 1/8 inches with a gift inscription on the first free end page. In a good unclipped no price dust jacket with significant chipping around the upper edges of the front and rear panels and the spine area. Several areas have been repaired with archival tape on the verso side of the jacket. A facsimile copy from the original 1843 London edition complete with colored frontispiece colored title page and three color plates and three vignettes. 166 pages followed by two pages of ads from the original British publisher's office.
