An unusually fine copy, with only minimal rubbing to joints. Internally bright and fine. A very attractive book.

Parenti Bibliogr. opp. di S.Pellico pag 22...".e ne furono tirate poche copie in carta grande") Esemplare assai raro, completo della presentazione del curatore Ludovico di Breme, impreziosito dalla dedica del Conte Giulio Porro Lambertenghi (storico-bibliotecario,1811-1885) il quale aveva fatto stampare nello stesso anno una edizione non autorizzata dal Pellico della tragedia "Francesca da Rimini"a Novara nella Tipografia Rasario; anzi il Pellico aveva autorizzato Ludovico di Breme a stampare la tragedia che come poi scrive nell'introduzione di questa edizione milanese "giaceva, son tre anni, poco men che dimenticata dall'autore". ."....Il dissidio fra il Porro e il Di Breme fu chiuso soltanto con la consegna da parte del Porro di tutte le copie dell'edizione novarese, destinate ad essere distrutte o ,almeno ad essere sepolte per qualche anno. E' probabile che tutte le copie siano state spedite a Milano dopo la soppressione di ogni indicazione tipografica e con la falsa data di Londra...."(Parenti op. cit. pag 20)
