195530062101Finland: J. Arthur Rank 1955. 1st Edition . No Binding. Fine. A visually stunning and extremely scarce Finnish A2 tour one-sheet for the Norman Wisdom comedy movie ONE GOOD TURN . The film was released in Finland in September 1955 with no further releases. This a particularly scarce "tour" poster. Tour posters were distributed on request to smaller cinemas and clubs in the smaller towns and villages in the provinces after the main release. The graphics are compressed slightly in the poster to enable space at the bottom top or both for venues to complete by hand in the specially printed margin information concerning time/date/venue of the local screening. These screenings might be in a small local cinema or equally in a local Labour Club or village hall. They were mostly pasted onto telephone poles or at bus stops in the local area so naturally very few survived after use. This poster is clearly one unused example. The poster measures 24" x 16.5" and is in Nr Mint condition with just minor handling creases at the corners. No nicks tears pinholes or residue marks - a really fine example and piece of film memorabilia.

J. Arthur Rank unknown

196722052107Finland: Columbia Pictures 1967. 1st Edition . No Binding. Very Good. A Finnish cinema-used A2 poster for the film Murderer's Row starring Ann Margaret and Dean Martin as Matt Helm. The film was first screened in Finland in 1967 with no further theatrical releases. This poster is not a re-issue or a modern reproduction and nor is it Video/DVD-related. The "small" standard vintage Finnish film poster is the most common and collected version and approximates in size to the German or Hungarian A2. Sizes do vary very slightly depending on the printers involved and the era. Stylistically vintage Finnish movie posters rarely reproduce the same art-work from the original studios' publicity material. Older films were usually re-named in Finnish and Swedish below but nearly always referenced the original title of the movie somewhere in the presentation. This poster measures 24" x 16.5" approx. It is in Very Good or better condition with pinholes at the corners. Has been folded vertical the lines are visible. Handling creases at the edges. Small nick at the bottom edge not affecting the titles. Still presents very well however and very clean and bright.

Columbia Pictures unknown
