Beckett" as well as made a single correction within the text. An important association copy between the two mystical iconoclasts. The stamp of the Mehta Trust at the front endpaper as well. VERY GOOD. Shows marginal shelf rubbing of the extremities with some extremely small losses and nicks the spine with even toning the boards with lighter border toning otherwise the binding is strong and tight the text is clean and unmarked and the covers remain bright and distinct. Very slight toning at edges of textblock and wrappers short closed tear in lower edge of rear wrapper faint rubbing to spine folds but a very good copy. First edition in French in the second issue wrappers. Translated from the English by Beckett and Alfred Péron in the years prior to the outbreak of WWII and Péron's death in a concentration camp. Originally published as title 5 in the Collection Les Imaginaires. The total first printing consisted of three thousand copies but after the passing of four years and the sale of fewer than three hundred copies the unsold stock passed to Les Éditions de Minuit and was reissued in these new wrappers bearing their imprint and ads.
