Plates are unmolested by handling or age while backing sheets are a bit toned. The Commentaires 5p. are professionally printed and are mildly toned and edgeworn. The translation 4p. paginated by hand is good. All three components are partially enclosed in a defective cardstock folder. A fairly good set but lacking the very first reproduction therefore "as is" Englished text over Pat Choate's name begins: "This is not an exact translation. The ideas and sentiments expressed by Van den Bossche.were extracted from the colonialist context in which they were embedded and were then translated in the free style; portions were altered and some omitted.
