A conduct novel aimed at women or 'The English Matron'. This Victorian work is aimed on how to approach married life. It discusses the vows early days of marriage temper a husband in illness on the duties of the young mother and many more aspects of marriage. A scarce work with only six on Copac held at the British library Cambridge University National Library of Scotland Register of Preservation Surrogates and the V & A Libraries. In a full calf binding with gilt stamping to the spine and board edges. Externally very smart with minor shelfwear to the joints and extremities. Small areas of heavy rubbing to the rear board.
