Guy de Maupassant was a nineteenth century French author mainly known for his many short stories as well as a representative of the Naturalist school. A protégé of Gustave Flaubert his stories are often set during the Franco-Prussian war and denounce war and the effects on the citizens. He was an incredibly prolific author with three hundred short stories and six novels as well as travel books and a volume of poetry. His most popular work is Boule de Suif which was also his first published short story. The present is a collection of twenty-four of his works in uniform cloth bindings including half titles.
