Encyclopedia Britannica "François de Salignac de La Mothe-Fénelon: French archbishop and writer". Fenelon is perhaps most famous for his treatise on the education of girls published at the end of the seventeenth century. His Dialogues on Eloquence was composed around this same time and was published after his death. Fenelon's pedagogical writings were hugely influential in his day and remained so for decades afterward. This work in particular focuses on public speaking in a church or other religious setting. Some rubbing to the joints binding is firm and secure; a nineteenth-century or earlier name on the title page. Chez Florentin Delaulne hardcover
