This work was originally in French which was quite rare at the time considering most scientific works were written in Latin. The book is presented as hypothetical conversations between philosophers while gazing at stars. The book discusses the prospects of extraterrestrial life.</p><p>'<em>Plurality of Worlds'</em> is considered Fontenelle's most famous work and is also one of the first major works of the Age of Enlightenment. The work offers explanations of various models of the universe space the heavens and the zodiac through a philosophical lens and entertains the possibilities of extraterrestrial life.
