He was skeptical of human reasoning; interestingly that does not keep him to be admired in France. This is a Very Good copy of an edition published in England but untranslated from the original French that contained ten volumes this is Book Eight. The publishers Nourse & Vaillant were prominent and prolific during the 18th Century. Full leather binding; spine with titling and decorations in gilt. Clean text; 336 pages; endpapers and page ends are marbled. Text is very bright and clear. While a very sound little book there are several chips to the leather that do detract from its appearance. .
