His influence on Western writers was vast with the likes of Francis Bacon Descartes Hume Charles Darwin Virginia Woolf and Karl Marx taking inspiration from his work. This is an English translation of his work 'On the Verses of Virgil' taken from his third book of poetry.Inscribed by the translator to a Wilhelmina Stirling from C. V. N New Year 1928. Wilhelmina Stirling was probably A. M. W. Stirling the author of works dealing with the landed gentry of Yorkshire later on ghost hunting.Contains a number of woodcut vignette illustrations by Bruno Bramanti.In the publisher's original binding.A limited edition number forty of two hundred and fifty copies.
