Illustrations throughout the text and title-page vignette by Tony Johannot. Text block very clean with only occasional foxing confined mostly to the periphery. Both joints rubbed. Small nick out of top front cover corner. Asmodeus was the "King of Demons" probably derived from Zoroastrianism. He apparently had a limp one or two feet clawed or hooved. Le Sage portrayed him using two canes thus the title "Le Diable Boileux". Le Sage 1668-1747 was a French novelist and playwright during the Enlightenment Era.
