Mathematik Statistik und Versicherung - "Auch selbst hat sich Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz 1646-1716 eingehend mit Fragen der Versicherungsmathematik insbesondere des Barwertes des Gesundheitswesens und der Statistik befaßt. Er forderte die jährliche Veröffentlichung von Geburts- und Sterbelisten im Interesse des Ausbaus der Personenversicherung. Außerdem dachte er an eine "Reservekasse als Nothpfennig für Witwen und Waisen" wofür jedem Beamten von seiner Besoldung jeweils ein bestimmter Betrag abgezogen werden sollte um die Hinterbliebenen vor dem äußersten Ruin und Armut nach dem Tode des Ernährers zu schützen. Dem weiteren Fortschritt des Versicherungswesens kam schließlich außer der Erfindung seiner Rechenmaschine die Entwicklung der Zinseszinsrechnung zu statten die er 1683 in der damaligen Gelehrtenzeitschrift "Acta Eruditorum" veröffentlichte."
