Clemens has additionally underlined and emphasized paragraphs with marginal pencil marks throughout the chapter titled "Der Geist des Christentums und sein Schicksal" The Spirit of Christianity and its Fate. <p>Considered the authority on Down syndrome which was then referred to as "Mongolism" Dr. Clemens E. Benda 1898-1975 was recognized as an internationally known expert on "mental deficiency". Benda argued for an end to "artificial distinctions between mental defect and mental illness" and believed that "so-called mentally deficient children are often the victims of unfair and unjust discrimination". Born in Berlin where he received his medical degree Benda worked as a psychiatrist at the Binswanger Sanitarium in Switzerland. He moved to the U.S. as a research fellow at Harvard Medical School eventually teaching at both Harvard and the University of Munich. "Meno di niente", l'ultima fatica filosofica di Slavoj Zizek (di cui qui pubblichiamo le prime due parti; le seconde due nel 2014) è un libro sterminato, che sembra voler parlare di "tutto quanto si trova sotto il cielo". Ma è anche un'opera destinata a far ricredere quanti considerano Hegel come il filosofo del "Sapere assoluto" che fagocita ogni cosa e la filosofia post-hegeliana (che spesso è filosofia anti-hegeliana) come ciò che pone rimedio a questa follia idealista. Perché la nostra situazione è identica a quella con cui doveva fare i conti Hegel e, forse, l'unico modo che abbiamo oggi di prevenire la catastrofe, di fermare l'accelerazione capitalistica, animata da un'implacabile pulsione di morte, è ripetere Hegel. Tuttavia, che cosa accadrebbe se per questa via approdassimo a una semplice quanto sconvolgente conclusione? "Se c'è qualcosa anziché il nulla, ciò non avviene perché la realtà ecceda il mero nulla, ma perché la realtà è meno di niente". Contiene le prima due parti: "Il drink prima" e "La cosa stessa: Hegel". Un elegante cofanetto che riunisce i due volumi dell'opera più importante pubblicata da ?i?ek.
