1996BIBLIO-20477Maurizio Martino Storrs-Mansfield 1996 reprint of 33 bookseller's catalogues issued from 1943-1965. Reprint limited to 300 sets. 2 vols cloth 8vo. approximately 2000 pp ills. Over 8500 entries. This is a most useful reprint in 2 volumes of 33 bookseller's catalogues issued by Ernst Weil together describing over 8500 works including many rarities in the fields of science and medicine. The inclusion of a new comprehensive author-title index which runs to some 287 pages makes this reprint more useful than a set of the original catalogues which would in any case be extremely difficult to put together. Weil was respected as one of the most scholarly of post-war booksellers - his bibliography of Albert Einstein remains sought-after - and the catalogues are valuable reference tools for anyone collecting or dealing in his fields. Arnold Hunt has recently written that "Weil joined the distinguished bookseller E.P.Goldschmidt & Co. in 1933 to develop a .specialism in the history of science and medicine in which he proved so successful that he eventually set up on his own and in financial terms did far better than Goldschmidt himself. As New. Maurizio Martino, Storrs-Mansfield, 1996 reprint of 33 bookseller's catalogues issued from 1943-1965 hardcover
