This is an exceptionally clean copy with no writing marks underlining or bookplates. No remainder marks. Not an ex-library copy. Spine is relatively tight for the book's age. Corners are square and the boards are flat and true. Boards do show some aging with some edge wear and bumping to the corners. The front board has some light-colored spotting along the foreedge as well as some pitting here and there. The spine cover is a bit tattered at the upper and lower extremes and is also faded with the title no longer readily visible against the background. The gold gilt lettering on the front board is a bit worn as well but the author's name is still quite legible. The pages are moderately browned and the rear pastedown endpaper is cracked in the gutter revealing the binding. Dust jacket is not price-clipped but is a modern FACSIMILE in beautiful condition. This highly collectible very good first edition/first printing copy is protected with an archival mylar dust jacket cover. A great addition to anyway Hemingway collection!
