A solid presentable copy of the 1937 correct 1st edition with the the letter 'A' and the Scribner colophon to the copyright page. Tight and VG with bright gilt-titling along the spine and rubbed lettering to the front panel. Offsetting at the inner hinges and a very small amount of staining/soiling to the margins of several of the preliminaries. And in a bright price-intact VG- dustjacket with a degree of creasing and soiling to tha panels closed tears along the front flap and the front spine hinge and fairly sizeable abrading affecting some of the text at the front flap itself.
