A scarce history of England comprising of a series of thoughtful questions and answers that span the history of the country illustrated throughout. The fourth edition of this scarce work.Illustrated with a frontispiece and ten plates.ESTC citation number N469179.Adverts to leaf A6. Collated with eleven plates. Twelve plates are called for but we have yet to see a copy that matches this. A unique history of England told through a series of questions and answers spanning from the invasion of Julius Caesar up to the year 1788. This format is a useful technique for education forming a series of basic questions which lead onto deeper historical questions. The substance of this text is extracted from the works of celebrated historians including Rapin Tindal Hume and Smollett. In a half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally generally smart with rubbing to the leather and a little lighter rubbing to the paper with a small amount of loss to the front board. Minor bumping to the extremities. Light surface cracks to the spine. Hinges are starting but firm. Bookseller's label to the front paste down. Internally firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with some scattered spots. Frontispiece is a little closely trimmed to the margin not affecting the illustration. Very Good S. Crowder hardcover

Also sometimes attributed in the two Lampeter copies to one "Lynch an Irish papist" or to Edward Weston. Replied to in 'A free comment on the late Mr. W-g-n's apology . By a lady' London 1748. Manuscrito de 20 páginas sobre el Catastro del Marqués de la Ensenada una gran encuesta fiscal en todos los pueblos de la Corona de Castilla donde cada localidad respondió a un interrogatorio de 40 preguntas sobre población tierras rentas oficios etc. El manuscrito se refiere directamente a las ordenanzas y disposiciones emanadas del Catastro de 1752. Interesante porque enlaza con uno de los proyectos fiscales más importantes de la monarquía ilustrada. Encuadernación en pergamino.
