Crown octavo 20.5x13 cm. - 83 1 pages. - Publisher's original light gray cloth title embossed in gilt and blue on front cover: lacks spine. - Disbound all leaves are loose to be worked on in order to prepare a new edition. - In 1936 the publisher GOTTFRIED BERMANN-FISCHER 1897-1995 decided to move his publishing house from Berlin to Vienna in order to continue publishing works by authors prohibited or no more wanted in Germany. - One actual physical example of this is the present volume where the third edition of Hofmannsthal's "Andreas" is taken apart in order to prepare the fourth edition . - On a great number of pages there are editorial remarks and corrections in pencil starting with the title-page where "S. Fischer Verlag / Berlin" is crossed out and "Bermann-Fischer Verlag / Wien" is written in. - It is continued on the copyright page where the first line where the first three words of "Erste bis dritte Auflage 1932" are crossed out and replaced by "Vierte". - NOTE THAT THE 1932 DATE WAS NOT CHANGED AND WORLDCAT GIVES FOR THE FOURTH EDITION THIS DATE INSTEAD OF 1936. - On the second line "Umschlag und Titelvigvette von Hans Meid" the first two words are crossed out. - After the forth line the following two lines are added: "Printed in Austria' and "Druck: Elbemuhl k.g.
