Wrappers faded and chipped; hinge split repaired with archival tape; pages uncut and foxed. Preserved in attractive custom-made slip case with marbled paper and a Plexiglas panel revealing the cover. Scarce posthumous publication printed during the height of Wilde's unpopularity. With editor Stuart Mason 'S preface Wilde's autobiographical essay on travel in America as given as a lecture at Wandsworth in September of 1883; two poems "Le Jardin" and "La Mer" are also here printed in book form for the first time. Additional short stories in this issue are by Matt Taylor "Loser's End" Sidney Herschel Small "Mountain of Gold" Harold Lamb "The Devil's Song" and Frederick Hazlitt Brennan "A Matter of Sentiment" a short-short.
