Dust jacket not price clipped or marked with two small repaired tears to upper edge and light creasing to upper and lower edges. 112pp. This is a story about a youth who joined the Royal Navy in 1891 and left it at sixty-five in 1942. In addition to being a successful officer who rose to high rank he was from his early days a beautiful artist. The book is a written account of his career illustrated extensively by his photographs and a wealth of his paintings. The author, his elder son, retired in 1985 as Commander-in-Chief UK Land Forces.
