Featuring a small number of vignette illustrations and a frontispiece.The second tale present bound without a title page is Charles Nodier's scarce children's tale 'Bean Flower and Pea Blossom' published by Chapman and Hall in 1846.This delightful work of fantasy is illustrated with a chromolithograph plate and numerous vignette illustrations from engraver Tony Johannot and features nine pages of publisher's advertisements for 'The Boy's Own Book'.The final work is an 1845 James Burns edition of 'Fables and Parables' featuring English translations of German stories by Lessing Herder Gellert and Meissner and with a small number of vignette illustrations.With a contemporary inscription to the head of the title page of 'Fables and Parables' dated 1845.
