Cranford was serialized in Household Words by Dickens. Besides known for her books Cranford and North and South she also wrote the biography of her friend Charlotte Bronte along with several other works. A very nice copy bound by E.P. Dutton in 3/4 blue crushed morocco over marbled paper covered boards raised bands gilt compartments decorated in red floral gilt onlays top edge gilt original gilt decorated cloth covers bound in at rear just a bit of fading to spine.
