This collection of photo-postcards provide a vivid impression of the pageant on the occasion of the opening of the German Museum in Munich. The photographs show the various sections of the pageant representing a number of professions e.g. carpenters butchers bakers potters galziers textile merchants engineers female citizens of Munich and the elements fire water and air. Many of the sections include horses as well as cars floats and marching bands all photographed with the backdrop of the illustrious Munich architecture. The collection contains a portrait photograph of the German engineer and founder of the German Museum in Munich Oskar von Miller. <br /> <br /> The majority of the photographs are by the photographers Hoffmann and Spiesse often copied into the photos with numbering in white respectively stamped to the verso of the cards. Two of the postcards are stamped Photo-Atelier Hans Möller on verso. Postcards partly with light oxidation in margins slightly wavy and some with light bumps and minor stpots. The main text is divided into two parts. The first is an introduction to reading the Bible: how to read understand interpret live by and act on the Bible. The second contains forty Biblical "Kern-Sprüche" the most important Biblical passages each followed by an explanation and application of the text and a relevant prayer. Die Hals-Nasen-Ohrenheilkunde konnte sich erst so spät zu einem eigenen Fach entwickeln da die zu beobachtenden und zu behandelnden Organe in tiefen dunklen Körperhöhlen liegen; die dem bloßen menschlichen Auge nicht sichtbar sind. So bedurfte es erst der Erfindung eines perforierten Hohlspiegels durch Friedrich Hoffmann 1841 mit dessen Hilfe die Beleuchtung dieser Organe möglich wurde. Friedrich Hofmann 1806-1886 Arzt Geheimer Sanitätsrat in Burgsteinfurt beschreibt seinen perforierten Hohlspiegel der die Beleuchtungstechnik vor allem im HNO- und Augen-Bereich revolutioniert aber auch bei der Urethroskopie verwendet wird HAKEN GRÜNFELD. Die Erfindung war einfach er kratzte den spiegelnden Belag im Zentrum eines runden Toilettenspiegels ab und benutzte dieses Loch als Durchblick Die Bedeutung dieser Entdeckung wurde zuerst nicht erkannt und 1859 beschrieb v. Tröltsch den sogenannten Ohrenspiegel erneut. Seit dieser Zeit erfuhr er eine weite Verbreitung. -cf. Georg Franz Hoffmann was a German botanist and lichenologist After graduating from the University of Erlangen in 1786 he worked there between 1787 and 1792 as a professor of botany. Between 1792 and 1803 he was Head of the Botany Department and Director of the Botanical Garden of Göttingen University. Already a famous botanist in particular for his work on lichens he settled in Moscow in January 1804 and directed the Department of Botany at the University of Moscow as well as the Botanical Garden. Includes the original hand-drawn lithograph "Faithful Nutcracker" printed on chine applique paper which is adhered to a hand torn sheet Lana mould made paper.
