A VERY RARE and MOST pleasing copy of this history of Roman Law from the busy jurist Christian Hoffmann. Especially taking the book's age into account this book is wonderful to hold read and to turn the pages. The boards have wear scuffing and marks. They are benevolent venerable. They are steady and sound. There is some wear to the spine seams but the book's security and facility are unaffected. The contents are in excellent condition. There are of course age related marks areas of tanning and foxing. In general and by far the contents are healthy tidy well maintained and preserved. The chapter "Fragmenta Edicti Perpetui in Corpore Juris Romano-Justinianei Dispersa ad mentem vir. clariss. G Vil. Ranchini Jac. The print "Faithful Nutcracker" is an original hand-drawn lithograph printed from an aluminum plate on chine appliqué paper. Roald Hoffmann born Roald Safran; July 18 1937 is a Polish-American theoretical chemist who won the 1981 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. He has also published plays and poetry. He is the Frank H. T. Rhodes Professor of Humane Letters Emeritus at Cornell University in Ithaca New York. Hoffmann received the 1981 Nobel Prize in chemistry sharing it with Japanese chemist Kenichi Fukui. Shira Leibowitz Schmidt is an engineer translator essayist mother of six and teacher of English as a foreign language at Netanya Academic College in Israel.
