The maps for this atlas were engraved by Girolamo Porro from Padua and are set within a page of text with engraved headpiece and decorated initial. There were many editions of this popular atlas between 1576 and 1713. Size: 145 x 240 mm. Copper engraving. Later colour. Mounted size: 300 x 400 mm. A fine crisp impression. Fine condition. Firmata in basso a sinistra: "per copia conforme all'originale esistente in Archivio, dall'Ufficio Tecnico di Finanza di Grosseto, li 26 giugno 1884. Il Disegnatore Berlia Bernardino". Al piatto anteriore ricchi fregi botanici a secco. Dorso a 4 nervi. Monumentale opera uscita nella collana Editalia "Collana Piccole Patrie" in tiratura limitata di 999 esemplari (il nostro è l'esemplare numero 634). Esemplare stampato su speciale carta marcata appositamente realizzata dalla cartiere Milani di Fabriano. Le dorature della custodia, e dalla legatura sono realizzate in oro zecchino da "Arte del Libro" di Todi. L'opera raccoglie, oltre ad un importante testo critico dedicato alla storia maremmana e dei suoi borghi, 73 tavole in bianco e nero e 45 tavole a colori. Fra i territori trattati: Castiglione, Roccastrada, Massa, Carrara, Gavorrano, Scarlino, Barbanella, Albarese, Orbetello, Argentario, Grosseto, Rosselle, Siena, ecc.
