VD18 1021478X; Graesse BMP 23. - Wird oft fälschlich dem im Titel genannten Jeremias Heinisch zugeschrieben, stellt aber eine Streitschrift auf dessen Werk "Das Zeugniß der reinen Wahrheit von den sonder- und wunderbaren Würckungen eines insgemein sogenannten Kobolds, oder unsichtbahren Wesens in der Pfarr-Wohnung zu Gröben" dar. - Amüsanter Bericht über einen Poltergeist, der im Jahr 1718 im Pfarrhaus des Gröbener Predigers Jeremias Heinisch (1684-1747) sein spukhaftes Unwesen trieb. Dieser äußerte sich anfangs darin, dass das Pfarrhaus wiederholt und ohne erkennbare Ursache mit Steinen beworfen wurde. Die Geschehnisse gipfelten in der Beobachtung vom 31. Juli 1718, als ein Stein wie von Geisterhand von der Erde in die Höhe gehoben wurde, immer höher bis aufs Dach hinauf und dann mit großer Gewalt aufschlug (siehe Titelholzschnitt). Ab diesem Zeitpunkt eskalierte das koboldhafte Treiben. Die Steine wurden größer und flogen auch durch Fensterscheiben, unheimliche Kratzgeräusche wurden wahrgenommen, Töpfe und Schüsseln zerbarsten, verschlossene Türen wurden geisterhaft durchdrungen, weitere Steinschläge richteten beträchtlichen Schaden am Inventar an, schließlich flogen den Hausbewohnern gar schwere Bleistücke um die Ohren, kurzum: an eine geruhsame Nachtruhe war nicht mehr zu denken und das Pfarrhaus musste partiell geräumt werden. Glücklicherweise kamen bei dem ganzen Spektakel keine Menschen zu schaden. Lediglich eine Henne musste dran glauben, der Kobold riss ihr den Kopf ab. - Titel mit kl. Sammlerstempel. Early printed edition of this exceedingly rare collection of early Ottoman erotic poems of homosexuality and bisexuality, of the 18th century including the multiple works of Enderunlu Fazil and Sünbülzâde Vehbi. This book includes five works originally: Defter-i ask [i.e. The book of love] (pp. 1-21); Hubannâme [i.e. The book of male lovers] (pp. 22-55); Zenannâme [i.e. The book of beautiful women] (as well as "Çenginâme" of Fazil Bey in Zenannâme, pp. 102-111); and Sevkengiz [i.e. Inspiring] (pp. 112-143). "Defter-i ask" [i.e. The book of love] by Fazil, in which he tells about his own romances, is a mathnavi of 438 couplets. It begins with a description of divine love and tells the story of the poet's romances, which he fell into only to regret and repent afterward. "Hubannâme" [i.e. The book of male lovers] consists of 796 couplets with various titles and it has a mystical analysis of beauty in the first chapter. After an introduction that gives geographical information that may be considered novel for its period, it describes the beauties of male bodies in many countries from India to America. This style is unique and the first in Turkish / Ottoman literature. In the work titled "Zenannâme" [i.e. The book of beautiful women], which is a mathnavi of 1101 couplets, women of various nations are described. The poet indicated in the introduction of his work that he does not want to talk about women, and that he has no orientation towards women. Enderunlu Fazil was an Ottoman poet who depicted the beauty of men from various lands of the Ottoman Empire. He achieved fame through his erotic works, which were published posthumously. Among his most famous works is The Book of Women, which was banned in the Ottoman Empire. The book describes the advantages and disadvantages of women from different nations. Fazil was born in Acre into an Arab family originally from Medina. He spent his early years in Safed in Ottoman Palestine. His grandfather Zahir al-Umar and his father Ali Tâhir were both executed (in 1775 and 1776, respectively ) for participating in a rebellion. After his father's death, Fazil moved to Istanbul. There, he was admitted to the Enderun palace school (thus taking on the name Enderuni or Enderûnlu) but was expelled in 1783 as a result of his love affairs with other men there. In 1799, he was exiled to Rhodes because of his satirical writings and was only allowed to return to Istanbul after becoming blind. He spent the rest of his life there, ill and bedridden. Sümbülzâde's "Sevkengiz" [i.e. The Inspiring] is an erotic and mystical poem in which heterosexual and bisexual narratives compare male and female beauties and eventually turn to divine love. Prima edizione. Nel 1781 apparve una seconda edizione, assai accresciuta. Il "Dottor Cornografo" nasconde l'identità del livornese Giovanni da Gamerra (1743-1803), fecondo letterato e scrittore. Il presente poema, che l'autore volle giustificare come testo di ironia morale, fu apprezzato da Voltaire per i "jolis vers et la parfaite connaissance de l'antiquité et des moeurs modernes". Nel 1793 il Gamerra chiese perdono a Pio VI del giovanile errore della "Corneide", scusandosi nella presentazione di altri suoi poemi. Opera veramente insolita sul mercato antiquario. Dal punto di vista letterario, si tratta di una raccolta di novelle un po' maliziose e licenziose scritte da diversi autori francesi e destinata ad allietare la corte di Philippe Le Bon. 2 tomes in-12 (162 x 95 mm), demi-maroquin rouge à grands coins, dos janséniste à 5 nerfs, têtes dorées (rel. ca 1880), (8), 288 p., (1) f. d'avis au relieur et (4), 332 p., double suite de 2 vignettes de titre, d'un frontispice et de 6 planches gravées. Seconde édition donnée immédiatement à la suite de la première, illustrée d'une double suite de 2 fleurons de titre différents, d'un frontispice et de 6 gravures "fantastiques". Il s’agit des mêmes planches que celles de l’originale mais gravées à nouveau. Le frontispice porte en légende: "Frontispice des Bijoux", les autres la mention: "Les Bijoux". Les vignettes de titre sont différentes, la première représente un sultan et un autre homme regardant une femme couchée, à moitié nue; la seconde figure un amour tirant le rideau d’un lit à baldaquin. Le présent exemplaire contient, en sus, une deuxième suite des épreuves des gravures tirées de la troisième édition, identiques mais inversées en miroir. Adams, décrit un exemplaire possédant cette même particularité dans son commentaire "3" de cette édition BI2 (II, p. 29). Première oeuvre romanesque de Diderot, ce roman libertin à clef met en scène Louis XV sous les traits du sultan Mangogul du Congo, qui reçoit du génie Cucufa un anneau magique possédant le pouvoir de faire parler les parties génitales ("bijoux") des femmes. En tournant la bague vers elles, leurs "bijoux" relatent sans détour leurs prouesses sexuelles. "Décrivant les moeurs de la cour du point de vue du désir féminin, le roman dresse le tableau d'une société libérée, où l'on multiplie les partenaires sexuels, où les apparences sont trompeuses et où la véritable tendresse est rare" (Bebelio). Le futur Encyclopédiste regarda plus tard cette oeuvre comme une sottise de jeunesse qu'il aurait souhaité réparer par "la perte d'un doigt", selon le témoignage de Naigeon. (Adams, BI2. Tchemerzine-Scheler, II, 922). Réparation au verso du titre du second tome, sans perte. Des clichés photographiques des vignettes de titre de la première édition ont été interfoliés. Très bon exemplaire, grand de marges, bien complet du feuillet de "l’Avis au relieur" qui manque le plus souvent.
