Sharp edges and corners. Very minor pushing-in to head and foot of spine. Text is bright and clean with no markings. Light soiling to block. Beautifully illustrated first state jacket by Elmer Hader. Price-clipped jacket is vibrant with only slight darkening to spine. Small chip to head of spine jacket affecting the "ck" in Steinbeck. Black and white photo of Steinbeck to rear panel. Very minor edgewear to jacket. Now protected in an archival grade Brodart wrap. An attractive copy that presents well. The novel Steinbeck considered his magnum opus.
