A most important catalogue. 118 of the 183 manuscripts described in these volumes were acquired from two outstanding collections, those of Earl Spencer, with the Althorp Library in 1892, and from the Earl of Crawford and Balcarres collection, formerly at Haigh Hall, in 1901.
