Spine and edges worn boards scuffed. Light even tanning occasional light dampstaining. Uncommon Mexican edition of this lengthy treatise on the education conduct and moral code of military officers by French Legion of Honor member Louis Durat-LaSalle translated into Spanish by General Rafael Benavides a prolific Mexican military author. Benavides was highly concerned with the improvement of Mexico's armed forces following its failures in the first half century of Mexican independence and his many works primarily studied and translated works from the foremost national militaries of his time. In addition to the principal work there is also section that provides a contemporary account of the French military and smaller parts that describe the American fortifications at West Point supplemented by two maps and Fort Monroe as well as a general report on the U.S. military academy.

OCLC locates six copies.
