Illustrated with 12 engravings across 6 plates complete. A very good copy the binding tight and square with rubbing to the boards and wear to the extremities. The contents with a contemporary previous owner's signature to the title page offsetting from some of the plates to the facing text pages and lacking the front free endpaper are otherwise clean throughout. An excellent example of a scarce title. The plates are fresh and bright. Twenty-five tales from Scottish history from the Battle of Lancarty to King James VI including accounts of Macbeth William Wallace Robert Bruce and the battles of Bannockburn and Flodden enlivened with a wonderful series of engravings.
