The cloth a little marked in places and a little tubbed and bumped at several extremities. Several small areas of indeterminate soiling to the top edge. Free endpapers functionally toned and the half-title title page and first text leaf lightly spotted. Quite a nice bright copy. No dust wrapper. The author's seventh novel a Southern Gothic classic originally published in the US in 1932 in a print run of 11000 copies with this significantly more uncommon English edition appearing a year later in a print run of 2500 copies.
