With its original dust jacket. 6.25'' x 9.25'' 198 pages with an unnumbered excerpt at the end. The dust jacket is in good minus condition. The original price of $3.95 is located on the front flap. Black and white/colo-tinted illustrations by Edward Shenton throughout the book. A small marking in pencil is present below the price. Slight staining at the bottom of the front flap. The panels are toned and a little stained. Some chipping and tearing at the spine especially. The lettering on the spine and front panel is intact. The book is in very good plus condition. The cloth boards retain their bright green color and are very well-preserved. Light shelf wear on the spine. The gilt lettering on the spine and front board is intact bright and legible. The previous owner's last name is written in pencil on the front endpaper. Very scattered and minor foxing throughout along with the occasional underlining/note in pencil. The text block is bright largely clean and complete. The black and white illustrations present throughout the book are well-preserved. The binding is sound. 1955B230007<p>Big Woods the Hunting Stories by William Faulkner. Published by Random House New York 1955. Illustrated by Edward Shenton. Very good first edition book in very good dust jacket. Green cloth covered boards with gilt lettering and black paw graphic on front panel; gilt lettering within black panel background and gilt publisher's name/logo on spine. Upper external page edges are green-tinted and with faint name stamp "Property of ." Edges at head and tail of board spine are crimped and scuffed close to but not quite fraying. Internally clean and with snug text block. Dust jacket soil is more obvious against the white background of back panel and also shows splash marks. Upper edge at head of spine is chipped and rubbed and with small closed tears on the corners. Minimal rubs along lower edge at tail of spine. Upper fore-edge corner tips have small loss from rubs. All folds are creased. Upper edges of front and back jacket panels have horizontal creasing and front panel has a1/2" closed vertical tear near the center. Upper edges of front and back inside flaps are sunned and creased. Not price clipped. Please use close-up options for best inspection and in support of condition descriptions.
