Hardcover bound in early quarter leather with patterned paper-covered boards. The binding is rubbed and a little bumped about the edges but is quite sound. Spine ruled in gilt. A solid copy with a sturdy text block. Marbled endpapers. Text is a little toned but is generally clean. Illustrated with four full-page copperplate engravings. Some copies appear to contain only 1 engraving being just the frontispiece. The leaf for pages 117/118 has a nearly 2 inch tear running down from the top edge in the middle of the leaf. The next leaf for pages 119/120 has a large portion torn away and repaired with replacement paper. This appears to have been done very early perhaps at the time of printing or even to the original sheet before the pages were printed. Each page has the page number in type. Text is in French. The English translation of the title reads "The Gastronomy Poem followed by the Author's Fugitive Poems". The title page bears both the normal date1805 as well as the French Republic date "An XIII" Year 13 of the first French Republic. A nice copy. <br/> <br/> Giguet et Michaud hardcover
