She includes the coincidence as "one of the amazing consequences of being a writer in contact with other lives." She wants to know more about her correspondent. "I've always been told there is only one Levertov. family. so we are probably related. Do you know anything of your family's history. I would be very interested to know." She notes she will be sending a collection of poems which includes some poems her correspondent mentioned "Bedtime" and "Psalm Concerning the Castle" among which is "a poem my sister Olga wrote before she died." Also she explains that "some references" in the poems "may puzzle you so perhaps I should explain that my father was a Jew who became a Christian. and worked all his life to reconcile Jews and Christians." And for completness she adds "My mother was Welsh. I'll look forward to hearng from you again. Cordially - Denise Levertov." Levertov's holograph envelope postmarked "Boston 19 Jan 1981" included. This copy has been boldly INSCRIBED to "Harvey Donegan" by Padgett on the half-title page and INSCRIBED again to the same recipient by Brainard with illustrations on the last page. Rare decorated publisher's announcement card laid in inviting recipients to "a party for Ron" at the Gotham Book Mart in New York. The card's design is the same as the book covers designed by Joe Brainard. A beautiful copy of the book and the party invitation. <br/><br/>This is one of numerous collaborations between two well-known figures in the New York School literary and art scene. They had begun collaborating while in high school in Tulsa producing The White Dove Review in 1959-60. This volume in wrappers was published simultaneously with a hardcover edition. While signed copies of the hardcover edition can be found in the market signed copies of the wrappered issue are much less common especially in such a nice condition as this and with the rare party invitation.
