At least five more drafts were written until she handed over her typescript to Leonard Woolf who delivered it to her half-brother's Gerald Duckworth publishing house in March 1913. The dust jacket was designed by Woolf's sister Vanessa Bell who did many covers and illustrations for the Hogarth Press over her lifetime.
