When De Beauvoir published Sartre's letters to her in 1983, she claimed that her own letters to him had been lost. After her death her literary executor and adopted daughter, Sylvie Le Bon de Beauvoir, discovered a large cache of her mother's letters to Sartre covering the period 1930-1961.
