Very Good Turkish Original wrappers. Demy 8vo. (21,5 x 13,5 cm). In Turkish. 119 p. Scarce first edition of Zorlutuna's fourth book of poems, known as "The mother of female writers". Signed by the poet's brother and writer Ismet Kür (1916-2013) as "Çok sevgili Ismet'e ve Saffet'e, 12 Haz 1967". The book consists of 117 poems in total under five different sections. The book was published for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the poetess' literary career, who published her first article at the age of 17 and her first novel at the age of 19. Zorlutuna started writing poetry during the armistice years. She joined the national literature movement with the effect and excitement of the Turkish War of Independence. Her poem "Git Bahar", which she wrote with national feelings, made her known. She adhered to the syllabic understanding in her poems evaluated in the national literature movement. She is known as one of the rare poets whose poems the famous poet Yahya Kemal memorized.

Royaliste modéré et catholique social, libéral en matière de religion, il se prononça en faveur de la séparation de l'Eglise et de l'Etat.

Rangée par la critique de son temps au nombre des "romantiques féminins" aux côtés d'Anna de Noailles, Lucie Delarue-Mardrus, Marie Dauguet et Renée Vivien, Marie de Regnier composa, sous le pseudonyme de Gérard d'Houville, une oeuvre originale saluée par la critique de son temps. Romancière féconde, poétesse et critique littéraire, elle était la fille de José-Maria de Heredia, et l'épouse d'Henri de Régnier. Femme très libre et dégagée des conventions, elle eut Pierre Louys comme amant, qui entretint également des relations avec sa mère et ses deux soeurs. Il épousera d'ailleurs finalement la plus jeune des trois filles Hérédia et s'inspirera de ces relations pour son roman érotique 'Trois filles de leur mère'. Marie de Hérédia reçut, en 1918, le premier prix de l'Académie française pour l'ensemble de son oeuvre, devenant ainsi la première femme à obtenir cette récompense. Envoi autographe signé sous son pseudonyme de Gérard d'Houville à Monsieur et Madame Paul Deschanel, au lendemain de la démission de ce dernier de son poste de Président de la République et à la veille de son décès. On joint également une carte postale timbrée et datée du 9 juin 1943 de "Madame Henri Régnier" à Marc Chesneau (1899-1980) au sujet de la Société des Poètes et pour le remercier de ses vers. Mors légèrement frottés. Très bon exemplaire, bien relié par Stroobants.

Title translates as, On The Autonomy of the Rabbis and ahe Principle of Jewish Marriage; A Contribution to Understanding About Some Relevant Jewish Issues of the Day. Samuel Holdheim (1806 1860) was a German rabbi and author, and one of the more extreme leaders of the early Reform Movement in Judaism. A pioneer in modern Jewish homiletics, he was often at odds with the Orthodox community . The most important work by Holdheim appeared under the title Die Autonomie der Rabbinen, (Schwerin and Berlin, 1843) . In this he pleads for the abolition of the antiquated Jewish marriage and divorce regulations mainly on the ground that the Jews do not constitute a political nation. The Jewish religious institutions must be rigidly kept distinct from the Jewish national ones, to which latter belong the laws of marriage and divorce. The laws of the modern states are not in conflict with the principles of the Jewish religion; therefore these modern laws, and not the Jewish national laws of other days, should regulate Jewish marriages and divorces (see Samuel Hirsch in Orient. Lit. , 1843, No. 44) . The importance of this book is attested by the stir it created among German Jewish communities, many members of which found in its attitude the solution of the problem of how loyalty to Judaism could be combined with unqualified allegiance to their German nationality. Evidence of its incisive character is furnished also by the polemical literature that grew out of it. In these discussions such men as A. Bernstein, Mendel Hess, Samson Raphael Hirsch, Zacharias Frankel, Raphael Kirchheim, Leopold Zunz, Leopold Löw, and Adolf Jellinek took part (Wikipedia, 2015) . SUBJECT(S) : Judaism and state.
