Sembra che altri personaggi abbiano preso ispirazione dalla lettura di questo trattato quali Napoleone Bonaparte e il generale MacArthur. Le teorie di Sun Tzu, oltre ad essere ancora considerate attuali da molti strateghi militari, hanno trovato applicazione anche nelle strategie manageriali, modelli di comportamento da adottare nelle situazioni competitive.
